| I have to admit to still being undecided about global warming--not that it's happening but what are the causes and what are the solutions. It concerns me when there is so much hype surrounding an issue and whether that hype is warranted. It also concerns me when I see Hollywood embrace an issue because they have the tendency to be arrogant and outside of their professional field. I guess it's not trendy to say you don't know the answer to stopping global warming--which is basically to cease life as we know it and return to nature like clueless hippies. I am definitely for the marketplace coming up with new ideas to compete with oil, but my hidden agenda there is to pull the rug under from rich, bigoted Saudis. What I am glad to see is heavy debate about the issue. Hopefully though, the population as a whole won't be scared into voting for a certain politician who says he can fix things. Politicians rarely make things better and they love to waste money on pet projects. There may be a need for some regulation in the future, but with heavy public debate I would like to see pressure applied on companies from their consumer base versus the government adding to their already growing power in such matters. |
